The English Students’ Society is for all and any interested in English at the University of Lethbridge. Run by students, for students, the ESS works to enhance the academic and social experience of those studying literature, writing, and language.
We organize events, share opportunities, and advocate for student needs within the department. Whether through workshops, community-building activities, or connecting students with academic and professional resources, the ESS aims to create a space where students feel supported, engaged, and confident in their studies.

In 2026, the English Students’ Society undertook an extensive review and, together, rewrote its constitution. This document is publicly available to the members of the club.
A constitution is important because it explains the purpose of the society, outlines the responsibilities of executive members, and establishes the rules and procedures that guide decision-making. It helps ensure that the organization remains fair, transparent, and accountable to its members.
